Kolkata , Aug. 7

THE Rajasthan-based Shree Cement Ltd has announced that the company registered its highest-ever monthly dispatch during July 2004, despite the monsoon.

According to a press statement issued by the company, the dispatch last month was 2.85 lakh tonnes. This represented a growth of 24 per cent over the corresponding month of 2003, when it was 2.3 lakh tonnes.

"The July 2004 dispatch represents the highest-ever amount dispatched in a single month by the company", the press release stated.

It may be noted that leading companies such as ACC and Gujarat Ambuja have also announced high dispatches during 2004. This is significant given that several parts of India are witnessing heavy rainfalls.

Shree Cement, whose flagship brand is Shree Ultra Jung Rodhak, is putting up a greenfield project at Pali in Rajasthan. The capacity of the plant will be one million tonne . The plant is expected to be commissioned in August 2005.
