Ocimum announces free bioinfo service

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Aug. 9

OCIMUM Biosolutions, a life sciences contract research and development company with operations in India and the US, announced free bioinformatics services focused towards biomedical research in the field of genomics.

These services encompass primarily micro array data analysis and gene optimisation services.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Ocimum, Ms Anuradha Acharya, most of the labs do not have resources, expertise or sophisticated bioinformatics tools to do requisite research. To address these issues, the company has decided to provide bioinformatics services to researchers.

In a press release here on Monday, she stated that Ocimum would provide standard analysis as well as customised analysis of clients' micro array data.

Similarly, the company's in-house analysts would engineer gene sequences based on user-set criteria using its proprietary algorithm.
