Coimbatore air-cargo facility listed in IATA publication

Coimbatore , Aug. 9

THE Airport Authority of India's (AAI) international air-cargo operation from Coimbatore has been listed in the International Air Transporters Association (IATA) publication.

The air-cargo tariff (TACT) rulebook of IATA, in its 61st edition published in June this year, has listed out Coimbatore AAI's air-cargo complex under its airport information column. It also includes the customs clearance facility provided at the airport, according to customhouse agency/clearing and forwarding industry sources here.

The IATA's TACT rulebook is often taken as the reference point to ascertain the custom notified airport facilities by shippers and international freight forwarders while choosing their destination airport for cargo transport.

Though the complex was recognised as the customs airport in 2001 itself, the facility has been cited in the TACT rulebook only this year, the trade sources said.
