Dax Networks bags Rlys, AP projects

DAX Networks Ltd, a networking solutions provider, has bagged three important networking projects from Southern Railway, and two from Andhra Pradesh for AP Engineering Colleges Communication Network and eSeva. With a recent alliance with Israeli networking company Telco Systems, Dax is eyeing about 10 per cent market share.

The Country Manager of Dax Networks, Mr C. Sujit Singh, who was hereto meet potential networking product users, told Business Line that the company, which was initially into networking products handling the non-core area, has ventured into this space in tie-ups with Maipu Corporation, an Intel-funded Chinese company, and Telco Systems, a subsidiary of the Israel-based BATN group.

"These alliances have enabled the company to address the high-end switching equipment, which supports the core infrastructure, thereby handling the growing convergence requirements. With the recent alliance with Telco Systems, we are able to offer end-to-end networking solutions," Mr Singh said.

The AP Society for Engineering Excellence is a network of engineering colleges in the State. This network helps students across engineering colleges to access information and participate in eLearning, video conferencing and other areas. Dax, which won this project through competitive bidding, is handling the entire network of the project, he said.

"The Indian networking market is extremely fragmented and is estimated at about Rs 4,000 crore in 2003-2004 and is projected to grow to about Rs 5,000 crore this year. We are targeting the small and medium enterprise and small office and home office segments, which offer potential for growth," he said.
