THE Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre is organising the five-day Indian Trade Fair-2004 (ITF-2004) in Sri Lanka, beginning on October 13.
The ITF, to be held at the expo facility in Colombo, would focus on diverse trade opportunities in the bilateral trade.
"The fair offers a good opportunity to showcase their products and services, opening up new avenues and explore possibilities of forging new alliances," a FAPCCI (Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry) official told Business Line.
"The forum will give the businessmen an opportunity to interact with agents, distributors, direct-marketing companies, manufacturers and trade bodies," he said
He said Indo-Lanka trade had been on the rise during the last six years.
According to him joint trade promotion events such as Intex (two editions), South Indian Trade Exhibition (two editions) held in Sri Lanka gave businessmen from two sides good insights into the newer opportunities.
The major items identified for display in ITF were automobile components, agricultural implements, building materials, chemicals, glassware, computer software, consumer durables and non-durables, and jewellery.
