Outlook Ford eyes operational profits Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: Ford Motor India on Wednesday said it will post would be posting operational profits this year, as the company clocked a robust growth in the first seven months of the year. The company, which sold a total of 41,956 vehicles last year (mostly of the mid-size sedan Ikon), eyes is eyeing a healthy sales growth in the domestic market, although it expects though expecting exports to be almost flat at last year's level. "The Indian car market, especially the mid-size segment, is growing at a rapid pace - which has prompted us to up our earlier growth forecast for Ikon this year from the earlier 22,000 units to 27,000 units," Ford Motor India Managing Director and President, Mr David Friedman said at a news conference. The company sold 18,558 units of the Ikon last year.
