Roadways Kerala: Bus fare revision panel meets Our Bureau
The Cabinet sub-committee met representatives of bus operators and reportedly consented to the prospect of revising the fares. It, however, felt that the acceptable rate of increase needed to be worked out, including the impact of the proposed diesel price hike with effect from August 15. On their part, the operators urged the Government to set up a transport regulatory commission that would decide on fares on the basis of periodical revision in fuel prices. The bus operators felt such an arrangement had become imperative if only to save the State and the transport sector from the prospect of frequent agitations demanding fare hike.
