Marico launches new functional food range in TN

Chennai , Aug. 12

MARCIO Industries Ltd (Marico) has launched its range of functional foods in Tamil Nadu and plans to spend Rs 1.6 crore on advertising during the next nine months.

Mr Arnab Banerjee, Head - New Business, Marico Industries, said that the two new products, the Saffola Sugar Management with natural fibre and Saffola Cholesterol Management with vegetable protein are designed to maintain better heart health for the entire family.

Mr Banerjee said that today's hectic lifestyle, long working hours and the growth of double-income families have changed the way families eat, leading to imbalances in diet. These products, which contain crucial `heart friendly' components such as protein and fibre, can be added to one's regular diet of roti, idli, dosa, vegetable curries or raita.

The Saffola cholesterol management (roti mix and meal mix) is priced at Rs 60 for the 50-scoop family pack and Rs 17 for the 10-scoop trail pack. The Saffola sugar management (roti mix and meal mix) packs are similarly priced.
