E-Governance Registrar of Companies Web site for AP Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Aug. 12 AS a part of the ambitious Rs 400-crore computerisation programme initiated by the Department of Company Affairs (DCA) sometime back, the Andhra Pradesh office of the Registrar of Companies (RoC) has unveiled its user-friendly Web site here on Friday. Addressing the professionals from the fields of company secretaries, chartered accountants and cost and works accountants on the occasion, the DCA Regional Director, Mr Samir Biswas, said the project was primarily aimed at providing effective services to the registered corporate entities. According to him, the project was expected to enable anywhere and anytime access for stakeholders to information on registered corporate entities over a period of time. It was in this direction that RoC Web sites were being launched across all the regions in the country. The Southern Region has emerged first with all its six RoCs now having their Web sites, he said. The Web site of AP RoC - rochyderabad.ap.nic.in:8080/rochyd -- provides updated information on companies, pending applications, defaulters, missing companies and firms under liquidation. According to Mr Biswas, the project of DCA would help in reducing the time for registration of new companies from days to hours, offering online access to public records anywhere and anytime, easy registration and verification facility for financial institutions, and attaining effective management and transparency. The `proof of concept' for the project `DCA-21' was successfully completed at the Coimbatore RoC recently. The second pilot project at Delhi would be completed shortly. Mr Biswas said the computerisation projects of DCA would result in substantial reduction of cost and time of compliance for companies.
