ICICI facility for emigrants to Canada

K.V. Kurmanath

Hyderabad , Aug. 13

INDIANS going to Canada need not worry about opening bank accounts there. ICICI Bank, through its Canadian arm, has launched `Hello Canada New Comers Account' targeting people who plan on settling or have already been approved to reside, work or study in Canada.

Opened on Wednesday, the new service allows customers to open savings account before they arrive in Canada, a top ICICI Bank official told Business Line.

"The scheme is devised keeping in mind the requirements of new comers," he said.

He said opening a bank account or getting a credit card there for new comers was a bit difficult, as they needed to establish credit history.
