Music & Dance Marketing - New Products & Services CDs of classical dances released Our Bureau
Kochi , Aug. 15 SYMPHONY Celestial, a series of DVDs/VCDs on Indian classical dances with English subtitles, has been released at a function here by the Union Minister of State for Tourism, Ms Renuka Choudhury. The DVD package brought out by Invis Multimedia, Thiruvananthapuram, comprises 10 classical CDs featuring the finest of Indian dance forms some with antiquity that goes over 2000 years like Koodiyattam, honoured by UNESCO as one of the master piece of oral and intangible heritage. It features also features Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Manipuri, Odissi, Satriya, Kathak and Yakshaganam. The package is said to be an authentic and reliable reference material for students, researchers, libraries and for anyone with an interest on Indian dance forms. Ms Choudhury handed over the first copy of the collections to the State Tourism Minister, Mr P. Sankaran. Speaking on the occasion, she said that dances integrated the country and always stood as an instrument of communication. Thousands of dance forms, representing the country's cultural heritage, deserves special attention and initiatives to bring it in CDs would enable the world to know about the unique aspects of India's culture, history and heritage, she said.
