Markets - Stock Markets

When the House meets, market loses the jeets?

After watching `live' the unfurling of the tricolour by the PM and listening to his speech, Khan, Jogin, Dakshinamoorthy and Sridevi login to chat about markets. Hang on!

Sri: From Red Fort, I'm panning to Parliament.

Kay: Session resumes today. Is there a negative

correlation between the House and the bourses?

Jog: Whenever Parliament is on, stock market in general

has not moved up.

Dax: All chatter-jis, what's the matter-ji?

Who's jeet-ing? :-)

Jog: Don't tell me you've been

gobbling up K.C.Das's

rossogollas! One man's sweet is

another man's sugar, as in

markets where what's profit for

one could be loss for another.

Sri: Who reads what's shown by

signs, though words unspoken

be, in form may seem as other

men, in function nobler far is he.

Kay: Wah! That's Kural 704. So,

here's what I read from DOT

supporting the raising of FDI

in telecom to 74 per cent: It might give Bharti a shot in

the arm; the stock could see some action on the back of

this positive development.

Jog: Zee Telefilms is another stock on which there could

be activity.

Sri: I know why! Zee has emerged as the highest bidder

for cricket matches to be played in India over the next

three years.

Dax: Sri, you like cricket? You know, I used to bowl

maidens over...

Kay: No ball! A few stocks from the bulk drug space

have seen a pronounced movement, especially over the

last trading week. This could be a harbinger of some

positive news on these stocks.

Jog: Chartists feel that bottom might be at 5050 for

Sensex and from there bounce-back will come!

Sri: Mid-cap pharma stocks are getting re-rated and

action in these stocks is likely to continue. JMO.

Kay: Let me name some of them: Unichem Lab, Vimta

Lab, Hikal, Lupin, and Dishman.

Dax: Did somebody say steal?

Jog: You chatterbox, write `steel' five times! There's talk

of Southern Iron and Steel Co being acquired by a leading

steel company. I heard names such as Tata Steel and

Jindal Steel.

Kay: From Monday, 51 stocks on BSE are moving to

trade-to-trade segment.

Sri: Some companies being shifted have good financial

performance and also good track record?

Kay: You're right, Sri. The best way is to watch these

companies and enter when price falls.

Dax: Hey, I'm seeing www.office-humour.co.uk for the

latest stock market report.

It says: "Paper was stationary.

Fluorescent tubing was dimmed in light trading. Sun

peaked at midday. Diapers remain unchanged." :-))
