Chain.sys plans marketing push

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore , Aug. 16

WITHIN four years of establishing its presence in India, Chain.sys (India) Private Ltd, the Indian arm of the US-based Chain.sys Corporation, is planning to spread its wings by opening marketing offices in Bangalore and New Delhi.

"We are not looking at development centres per se, because our product "e.chain" itself is Web-based. Further our focus is to go global," Mr Rajkumar Ramachandran, Vice-President (e.Chain, Oracle and Outsourcing), Chain.sys told Business Line.

e. Chain is a fully integrated end-to-end supply chain management/enterprise resource planning suite for the medium and small industry segments.

The company would roll out the next version of its ERP solution (V4) in six months, Mr Rajkumar said and pointed out that the latest version was specifically designed for the export-oriented units. `The existing eChain version (V3) is modular-based. This does not allow for taking the product to `component-based' level. In V4 architecture, the product can work on any (global) language.' Besides upgrading its product, Chain.sys, he said was planning to brand its product - eChain.

Answering a query, he said that the parent company had invested Rs 40 lakh for starting the Indian operations four years back.

"Our team size was just 5 at that time. We have more than 70 persons on our roll today and are contemplating to increase it to 120 by this year. We are cautious on our growth, both in terms of revenue and man power."

The unit, registered with the STPI (Science and Technology Parks in India) gets a revenue of close to $75,000 every year for execution of projects for the Indiana State in the US.
