Thomas Cook is sales agent for Lufthansa, Condor

THOMAS Cook (Mauritius) Travel Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd, has been appointed general sales agent for Lufthansa and Condor (a Thomas Cook AG airline) in Mauritius.

The company has opened a new office in Mauritius which will house Thomas Cook (Mauritius) Travel Ltd and its sister concern Thomas Cook (Mauritius) Operations Co Ltd, which offers foreign exchange services.

An official statement quoting Mr Ashwini Kakkar, Director, Thomas Cook (Mauritius) Travel Ltd, said: "Mauritius with its multi-cultural history, has established itself as a convenient and important international business hub in the Indian Ocean region."

The new office will provide local customers and international tourists with Lufthansa and Condor airline ticketing services and foreign exchange services.

Mr Madhavan Menon, Director, Thomas Cook (Mauritius) Operations Co Ltd, said: "We also plan to enhance our product range of travel related services so as to be a one stop travel shop for our customers."

The statement added that the Thomas Cook Group planned to expand its network in Mauritius as well as set up offices across the SAARC region.
