ICRA downgrades Samtel NCD programme rating

Mumbai Aug 17

ICRA has downgraded the rating assigned to the Rs 25-crore long term NCD programme of Samtel Colour Ltd from LBBB-Plus to LBBB.

According to an ICRA press release, the revised rating indicates moderate safety. "However, the relative degree of safety regarding the timely servicing of interest and principal has declined marginally since the last rating was assigned. The medium term rating assigned to the fixed deposit programme has been retained at MA-Minus, indicating adequate safety," the release said.

The ratings also considered the continuing pressures on realisations, arising out of the falling duty protection levels and competitive pressures in both the CPT as well as the downstream colour television industry.
