More Wrangler outlets to become franchises

Hyderabad , Aug. 19

WRANGLER, the denim brand from Arvind Brands Ltd, has decided to turn all but 12 of its 43 exclusive outlets into franchisee-run showrooms soon.

Currently, the company owns 20 outlets.

Ms Janani Subramanian, Brand Manager of Wrangler, told newsmen here that brand would add four more specially designed exclusive showrooms in a couple of months. The brand has seven such stores.

She was here to open an exclusive new-look store.

"One each in Bangalore and Chandigarh and two in Delhi will come up in the next two months," she said.

The company had changed tactics and decided to locate the outlets where people could just step in, she said.

The brand, which registered a turnover of Rs 32 crore, targeted Rs 50 crore this financial year. "Forty per cent of this comes from exclusive showrooms," she said.

On the company's expansion plan, she said it would follow a two-pronged approach. "We will foray into more cities, while making the brand stronger wherever we are present right now," Ms Janani said.

Speaking on the philosophy behind the revamped design, she said rugged, unpolished slates were used on the walls to synchronise the brand with rugged wear.

The visuals mounted on the walls didn't reflect the product. "Instead, we used visuals of music instruments and people playing music instruments," she said.
