HPCL outlets to vend Faber cooking range

FABER-India, the joint venture of Faber SpA of Italy and Heatkraft of Pune, has joined hands with HPCL and Whirlpool to tap the domestic kitchen appliances market.

Talking to presspersons, Mr Pralhad Bhutada, Managing Director, said the company has signed up an agreement with HPCL about ten days ago for the distribution of Faber products through HPCL outlets.

To begin with, about 30 outlets in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai would begin its distribution, which would be ramped up to 100 by the end of the current fiscal.

These outlets would begin distribution by September-end to catch up the festive season.

Regarding Whirlpool, Mr Bhutada pointed out those three products in the categories of chimneys, cooking ranges and hobs would be showcased in the Faber Galleria under the Whirlpool brand name. About 10 products, in the three categories would be chosen from the international kitty and would be showcased by November, he said.

Mr Bhutada said in order to boost its sales during the next four months of the festive season, the company has started a new nationwide marketing and promotional campaign — "Faber Chappar phad ke jeeto."The campaign began in Pune today.

Consumers have a choice of winning more than 50,000 gifts.

This is in addition to the `assured' hamper gift of non-stick kadai worth Rs 450 for the purchase of any Faber appliance. The company has earmarked a total budget of Rs 5 crore for this four-month promotional campaign.

He noted that the company is estimating sales of 50,000 appliances this year during the festive season as compared with 25,000 appliances sold last year during the same period.
