AIR Deccan's first A-320 aircraft will begin operations on August 25, flying from Bangalore to Delhi and back.

The no-frills airline has sold 100 seats on the inaugural flight at Rs 500.

Commercial flights on the trunk routes of Bangalore-Delhi, Delhi-Mumbai, Mumbai-Bangalore, Bangalore-Mumbai, Mumbai-Delhi, and Delhi-Bangalore routes will begin on August 26.

Air Deccan has inducted three A320 aircraft with a seat inventory of 180 on its fleet, an official statement said.

Two of these aircraft would start commercial operations from September out of Chennai.

The airline, which has signed up for 11 such aircraft to be delivered over the next 7-14 months, expects to induct four of these aircraft in February-March next year.

The last batch of four aircraft are on option and would be brought on board if demand keeps pace with its projected growth.

Further, the airline will induct five more ATR-42-500 aircraft in the last quarter of this calendar.

According to the statement, the airline expects to clock revenues of $125 million and carry close to two million passengers by March 31, 2005.
