Rlys seeks bids for cleaner toilet systems

THE Ministry of Railways has invited proposals from interested parties for finding out an alternative system of open toilets in passenger coaches.

This is intended to keep the station and trackside clean, eliminate corrosion of track, track fittings, and bogie; and under gear parts of the rolling stock, says an official release. The move is aimed at meeting the Government's objective to eliminate open toilets by 2011-13.
