Chennai , Aug. 24

HONEYMOON for Life, a workshop on service as a competitive tool, is being conducted in Chennai on September 3 and 4.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Ramanujam Sridhar, CEO, brand-comm, also one of the programme directors, said the workshop is aimed at senior managers in general management, sales and marketing and customer service. Today's brands are similar in almost all parameters and good customer service is what will give a brand an edge, he said. Mr Ramesh Venkateswaran, CEO, Almak Management Services, an expert in customer service and marketing strategy, is the other programme director.

Consumers today don't just compare brands, they compare the service they get across categories; service innovation and consumer satisfaction are vital to competition and an impressive balance sheet, Mr Sridhar said, adding that "deterrents to poor service" are increasing rapidly in today's world.

The workshop attempts to identify the changes in the environment which affect the organisation's working, understand the customer's changing expectations, get employees to recognise the magnitude of service as a competitive factor and to discuss strategies to improve competitiveness through service delivery.

The workshop, to be conducted at the Taj Connemara here, is interactive and participants are expected to work with real-life cases in the programme.
