Water level declines in Kerala reservoirs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Water levels in two major reservoirs in the State registered a fall compared with the respective readings of the last week. The only exception was Idukki, the largest, where the level rose to 2374.90 ft from 2372.60 ft, according to statistics provided by the Central Water Commission.

At Kallada, the level receded to 378.74 ft from 379.27 ft and at Idamalayar, to 534.84 from 537.04. However, year-on-year recordings revealed that levels at all three registered an increase. The levels were up by 49.12 ft at Idukki, 69.39 ft at Idamalayar and 50.66 ft at Kallada.
