Telecommunications Marketing - Strategy Hutch announces `flat rate' tariffs for prepaid users Our Bureau
Mumbai , Aug. 26 CELLULAR operator Hutch on Thursday more than halved tariffs for its prepaid service, with a local airtime rate of 99 paise per minute to any mobile phone, and a flat STD rate of Rs 2.25 per minute to any phone in the country. It is the third wireless operator after Reliance Infocomm and Bharti in the last fortnight to revise downward its prepaid tariffs and the fourth BPL Mobile promises to follow soon. "The new, `flat rate' tariffs of Hutch are easy to understand. They will benefit all Hutch and Orange (Mumbai brand) prepaid users whenever they call any mobile phone (numbers starting with 9) locally, or make an STD call to any phone in the country,'' said a statement from the company. "We are also increasing the affordability of a mobile pre-paid connection when compared to fixed line rates," said Mr Harit Nagpal, Chief Marketing Officer, Hutch.
