Bandh peaceful in Mangalore

Our Bureau

MANGALORE: The BJP-sponsored Karnataka bandh was total in Dakshina Kannada district, on Thursday. The State unit of the party had called for a bandh seeking the withdrawal of rioting cases against the BJP leader, Ms Uma Bharati.

Barring a few incidents of stone throwing on buses, the bandh was peaceful in the district.

While business and commercial establishments closed their shop, banks and Government offices worked with skeletal staff.
