HCL Tech plans campus at Greater Noida

Moumita Bakshi

New Delhi , Aug. 27

HCL Technologies is planning to establish a `Campus' at Greater Noida, which would be spread over 46 acres of land.

"We have bought 46 acre land in Noida for a campus. It will be an integrated centre for HCL operations. The campus would have a host of facilities including global headquarters, shared training facilities, one infrastructure management services facility," Mr Saurav Adhikari, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of HCL Technologies, told Business Line.

He said that construction of the campus would start around December end and estimated that the first phase would be completed in 2-3 years.

He said that the proposed campus would be built-up in a modular way. "Although we are yet to finalise the details, roughly we are looking at a capacity planning for 2,000 people in the first phase. Over a period of time it could be ramped up to house 5,000-8,000 people depending on our requirements," Mr Adhikari pointed out.

HCL Technologies has about 30 development centres spread across six locations in India including Chennai, Noida, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Within Noida itself, HCL Technologies has three business process outsourcing centres, and four facilities focused on technology operations and software development.

He said that HCLT's existing operations would not be shifted to the new campus, and clarified that the campus would largely cater to future requirements in tandem with the company's growth.

"We are not only growing in Noida but also in Chennai and Bangalore in a big way. We are growing in Kolkata and Gurgaon as well," he pointed out.

The Greater Noida set up would be the company's first campus in India.

The company leverages an offshore infrastructure and its global network of 26 offices in 14 countries to deliver solutions across select verticals including banking, insurance, retail, aerospace, automotives, semi conductors, petrochemicals and life sciences.
