Software Sun Micro, AMD unveil special initiative for ISVs Our Bureau

New Delhi , Aug. 27 SUN Microsystems and AMD today announced a special programme for independent software vendors (ISVs) to enable them to migrate or develop applications in a 64-bit computing environment. "Sun and AMD will jointly form an iForce Partner Program for ISVs and developers creating and porting applications to the Solaris operating system. This new program will include engineering and support from both companies, a seed unit program for ISVs as well as a Sun/AMD Developer Resource Kit," said Mr Ajay Goel, Director (Sales), Sun Microsystems India, at a conference. As part of its AMD Opteron processor-based solutions, Sun has also announced a range of servers and workstations including Sun Fire V40z server, Sun Java Workstation W1100z and Sun Java Workstation W2100z, and Sun Fire V20z server configurations ranging between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.
