IT Training Aptech, SSI see good growth in training V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , Aug. 29 APTECH Computer and SSI Education, two of the major IT training brands in the country, have recently bagged several State Government orders for IT education and expect institutional sales to pick up this year. This segment could, in fact, see more investments, with the Union Government deciding to levy 2 per cent education cess. The Managing Director of Aptech, Mr Pramod Khera, told Business Line that the company plays a significant role in spreading IT literacy in the country by partnering with various State Governments in their quest to make school children computer-literate. "With increasing awareness about the importance of IT education, more State Governments are beginning to address this space," he said. SSI Education has bagged the Orissa Primary Education Programme Authority's order, where SSI Education has begun training primary and upper-primary students in over 300 schools across Orissa during the first phase, and 150 schools in the second phase. Likewise, Aptech is associated with Government schools in Uttaranchal and other States. Aptech bagged order for 56 colleges out of 111 in Rajasthan and is also associated with 16 colleges in Punjab, he said. In Tamil Nadu, Aptech provides computer training to about 120 select police personnel in Chennai and training in IT tools and technologies to an elite team of police personnel. With Project Shikhar in Uttaranchal, Aptech is providing IT training to students in 56 colleges across the State. schools wherein Aptech has been awarded 250 schools. Aptech also covers colleges under Yuva.com. Aptech is associated with the Department of Posts, Delhi, Army-EME, Signals and Air Force among several other institutions.
