FITNESSONE, a health and fitness club, will start functioning here from Wednesday.

Spread over 12,000 sq.ft. of air-conditioned space, it will offer a range of imported equipment, which are among the best that a gym can offer, according to its Managing Director, Mr Vivek Anand.

FitnessOne has been put together with an investment of over Rs 2 crore, and more such gyms are planned in Chennai and other cities. A new feature is that with a membership in the club, the fitness conscious can avail themselves of guest facilities at over 3,500 other such clubs in 65 countries, he said.

The exercise machines are from leaders in the business such as Precor, Schwinn, Paramount, Nautilus and Tuff Stuff. The flooring is a specially made, rubberised and air cushioned `energy return flooring system' that is easy on the legs and prevents injury.

FitnessOne will offer aerobics classes, yoga classes, a 30-seat cafeteria, steam bath, Jacuzzi and massage.
