Cybercity Magarpatta gets best infrastructure award

Pune , Aug. 31

CYBERCITY Magarpatta, a four million sq. ft. software technology park that is part of the sprawling 400-acre `Magarpatta city' township in Pune, has been awarded the first prize at the Maharashtra IT Awards in the IT infrastructure category by the State Government.

The award was presented to Mr Satish Magar, Managing Director, by the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Vijaysinh Mohite Patil, at a ceremony in Mumbai.

The 20 reflective glass and aluminum clad intelligent buildings have been built with the core idea of `walk to work and walk to school' which allows today's busy professionals to focus on their work by providing them the security of knowing that their kids are safe in the secure environments of a residential township.

The township also redefines IT infrastructure by building it in an area, which has over 32,000 trees, 20-lakh sq ft of lawns and 25-acre central garden and over 120 acres of pollution-free surroundings, says Mr Magar.

"By providing employees with all the facilities and services including banking, health care, shopping and recreation within the complex, people living here can get down to work from day one. Companies can now opt for a total real estate solution instead of just an IT park'', says Mr Magar.

Also inside the township are educational complexes, health-oriented activities such as yoga and meditation centres, jogging/cycling tracks and a 200-bed hospital.

On the anvil is a planetarium, indoor and outdoor sports complexes, food courts, restaurants and a wonder golf course and an amphitheatre.

Over 6,54,000 sq ft of space has been constructed in cyber city in the last 14 months with the large modular planning offering seamless scalability to tenants like software development companies, BPO outfits and R&D centres.

Amongst those already working at cyber city are Avaya, Aviva, Amdocs, Sybase and Mellon.
