Presentation on `Wellness Tourism'

Bangalore: Dr Premchandra Sagar, Vice Chairman of the Sagar Apollo Hospital will be making a presentation on `Wellness Tourism' at the global convention of World Kannada conference at Orlando, USA. About 5,000 NRIs are expected to participate in the American Kannada Koota Association in the first week of September.

Tourism has become a major growth opportunity for India and medi-tourism is set to give impetus to it. The time has come for India to exploit every new opportunity for quicker development. The variety that India offers within one geographical stretch is beyond compare, Dr Sagar said adding that India's destination as a medical excellence centre would bring the international traveller to this country in large numbers. Sagar Group under Dr Prem Chandra Sagar, runs several educational institutions for professional courses such as engineering and medical science. It is planning to expand its hospital beds from 250 to 1,500 through two more super-speciality hospitals.
