Pune , Sept. 2 SENIOR citizens planning to go on a vacation to explore destinations abroad are being wooed by Guardian Holidays.The Pune-based travel company has announced customised packages that will offer the elderly traveller a vacation experience with discounts and oodles of sensitivity. The company is also gearing up to kick start a range of customized wellness packages that will appeal to the health conscious within this segment. Fifty Five Plus is a package catering to the needs of senior citizens, who are out to take a break and enjoy the exotica of foreign locales "Service with a personalised touch, tour guides who are sensitive to the fact that they cannot keep pace with the speed with which, younger folks rush through the sights, and lots of cultural activities rank high on the wish list of senior travellers," says Mr Sandeep Joshi, Director. Using an innovative `spouse flies free' package, the company has announced the inaugural trip of the 55 Plus package to Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia It plans to arrange similar trips to Egypt, Dubai and Australia for the current year, and Europe and the US in the summer of 2005. "Senior citizens are an enthusiastic lot who soak up everything there is to be done and known about a place. Our younger clients often skip the tourist spots, opting instead for shopping," says Mr Joshi, adding that the 50 plus package will ensure maximum comfort to the clients- no late flights, hectic itineraries and value-additions like healthy meals at regular timings, luxurious hotels and like-minded fellow travellers. Guardian Holidays already operates `Sadafuli,' a domestic holiday package exclusively for senior citizens; it offers tours to popular destinations like Kerala, Andamans and Lakshwadeep.
