NEW DELHI: Eicher Motors on Friday said sales of its commercial vehicles grew 88 per cent in August 2004 to 1,722 units over 915 units during the same month last year.

Cumulative sales for the first five months rose 37 per cent and exports increased 25 per cent over the year-ago period, an Eicher release said here.

"Our HCV products are gaining wider market acceptability. We will be commercially launching Eicher 20.15 Cowl for the passenger segment, in identified markets, this month," the EML Chief Executive, Mr Rakesh Kalra, said. The company was also working on new variants both in its LCV and HCV range and some of them would be introduced in the coming months, he added.
