Dubai firm keen on executing infrastructure projects in AP

Hyderabad , Sept. 7

EMAAR Properties, a public, joint sector company from Dubai, has expressed interest in developing world-class infrastructure projects in Andhra Pradesh. It is already in the process of firming up plans for a convention centre and an integrated township project here.

The Chairman, EMAAR Properties, and Director-General, Dubai Economic Development Department Group, Dubai, Mr Mohd Alabbar, said, "Profit would not be the driving concern of the company for investments in Hyderabad, as they had an emotional relationship with AP."

He and a delegation representing EMAAR Properties met the State Chief Minster, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Monday.

They discussed the convention centre and township project. The delegation requested more opportunities to co-ordinate activities between Dubai and Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister said pending issues to the proposed projects would be resolved at the official level. He wanted the Dubai company to take up world-class infrastructure projects.

He also urged the delegation to consider taking up the development and maintenance of a few heritage sites in and around Hyderabad.
