Chennai , Sept. 9

MESSE Munchen International, one of the world's largest trade fairs companies, has its eye on India, but has not found a suitable fair ground with international service levels, according to Ms Katharina Christine Hamma, Executive Director, Messe Munchen GmbH.

Ms Hamma told Business Line that it would be difficult for the company to invest in India but could support with the technical know-how. Messe Munchen has invested in a joint venture in China with the Shanghai Municipal Council to conduct a ``daughter trade fair,'' in Shanghai Pudong, she said. This year the ``bauma China 2004'' trade fair for the construction machinery, building material machines, construction vehicles and equipment industry will be held from November 16 to 19.

Ms Haleema Syed, the Indian representative of Messe Munchen, said that there were travel companies offering special tour packages for those wanting to visit the fair.
