Corporate Disputes Marketing - Piracy Two cos settle piracy claims Our Bureau
Bangalore , Sept. 10 THE Business Software Alliance and National Association of Software and Services Companies today announced that they have reached settlements with two companies with regard to software piracy claims against them. The two companies with whom settlements were made are Arpan Publishing , Mumbai, and Natural Remedies, Bangalore. Member companies of BSA and Nasscom had instituted copyright infringement suits against the companies for software piracy. Under the terms of the respective settlements, which had been filed before the Delhi High Court, Arpan Publishing and its Director Mr R. Chandrasekaran; and Natural Remedies and its Chief Operating Officer, Mr Anurag Agarwal, agreed to stop using unlicensed software on their computers. As part of the settlement, both the companies have paid a partial sum of cost to the BSA and have undertaken to use only original licensed software.
