KIRTILALS, the gold and diamond jewellery manufacturer and exporter, is planning to open showrooms at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Bangalore early next year, Mr V.R. Gunasekhar, General Manager, has said.

At a press meet here on Friday, he said the company currently had showrooms in Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore and Kochi and the manufacturing facility at Coimbatore.

"Our experience has shown that many customers from the coastal districts are frequenting our showroom in Hyderabad. Therefore, we are planning to set up showrooms at Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam in the State besides Bangalore. On each showroom we have to spend Rs 15 crore," he said.

He said the company had the distinction of obtaining ISO 9001-2000 certification for both manufacturing and retailing facilities together. "It is the first company in the country to do so," he said.

He said Kirtilals was currently offering its customers in the State a festival scheme — from August 25 to November 15 — under which every customer buying products worth Rs 15,000 or more would be given a coupon.

Three mega prizes - Maruti 800 cars - would be given to the winners after taking out draws. The first month's draw would be on September 26, the second month's on October 26 and the bumper draw on November 16.

Mr Gunasekhar said the company would hold exhibitions at Visakhapatnam (September 11 and 12 at Hotel Dolphin) and Vijayawada (September 13, 14 and 15 at Hotel D.V Manor) to enable the coastal customers to participate in the contest. The draws would be taken in Hyderabad.

He said the company was exporting diamond jewellery (6,000 carats) per annum.
