`Agri credit top priority'

MANGALORE: The General Manager of Vijaya Bank, Mr K. Jayakar Shetty, has said that credit flow to the agriculture sector is on top of the bank's agenda.

Distributing kisan credit cards to farmers at B.C. Road town in Dakshina Kannada district, he said that so far the bank has disbursed Rs 480 crore to agriculture sector.

The bank, which has more than 300 branches in Karnataka, is making all efforts to double the credit flow to agriculture sector as directed by the Union Government, he added.
