Coimbatore , Sept. 12

THE Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Coimbatore is organising a mega-exhibition styled `The Chamber Show 2004' here for three days from October 1to showcase the products manufactured in the Coimbatore region.

It is for the first time ICCI is venturing into organising such a show, which it hopes would help net a substantial sum to be used for promoting environment and tourism related initiatives.Speaking to presspersons, Mr A. Sakthivel, President, ICCI, said the association wanted to provide a window to the manufacturers of this region to showcase their products and would make the show an annual event. The focus would not be on a single product, and exhibits relating to different industries would be on display.

He expected the exhibition to be a big draw not only among the people of this region, but from neighbouring Kerala too, and expected the show to bring in revenues of about Rs 10 lakh to ICCI. It would provide high visibility to the show's participants.

Mr M. Krishnan, Honrary Secretary, ICCI, said cultural events for children would be organised during the show. Leading industrialists have been invited to share their ideas for successful business initiatives and a special women's session would be part of the show.
