Auditing Dhunseri Tea replaces Lodha firm as auditor Our Bureau
Kolkata , Sept. 13 THE C.K. Dhanuka-controlled Dhunseri Tea on Monday removed Lodha & Co of Mr R.S. Lodha as auditor of the company. A resolution in this regard was approved by a majority of shareholders at the company's AGM. Lodha & Co has been replaced by Lovelock and Lewis. Explaining the reason behind the move, Mr Dhanuka said, "We do not want to appoint a company which is in the middle of a controversy, especially at a time when group companies like South Asian Petrochem are looking for international expansion." The resolution for removal came from Mint Investment Ltd, of which Mr Dhanuka is a board member. "We hold more than five per cent stake in Dhunseri Tea and do not want Lodha & Co to continue as auditors," the Company Secretary of Mint said. The company had previously served a notice to Dhunseri in this regard. Mr Dhanuka told Business Line that Mint was an "associate company of the Dhanuka group".
