The Hindu Business Line : FAPCCI seminar on insurance tomorrow

THE Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) is organising a national seminar on `Outlook for insurance industry for next decade - issues and prospects' on Wednesday.

The day-long seminar will discuss issues like prospects of detariffing in the insurance sector, disinvestment and advantages of capital market accessibility.

The seminar would also focus on effective steps needed for developing rural markets, customer servicing and role of brokers in the expanding market.

Mr K. Harischandra Prasad and Mr Sohanlal Kadel of FAPCCI's banking, insurance and finance committee disclosed the details to newsmen.

Mr C.S. Rao, Chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA), will deliver they inaugural address at the seminar, while Mr M. Gopalakrishna, Chairman of AP State Financial Corporation, will deliver the keynote address.

Mr Kamesh Goel, CEO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company, will speak on detariffication of insurance.

Mr Sandeep Bakshi, Managing Director of ICICI Lombard General Insurance, will speak on the potential for insurance sector in the rural areas.
