Retailing Egana India opens lifestyle store in Bangalore Our Bureau
Bangalore , Sept. 14 ESPIRIT, Pierre Cardin, Carrera need no introduction to the highly fashion conscious Bangaloreans. And yet the brands housed in lifestyle stores exult themselves to become more attractive to be able to retain their value and panache. Egana India appears to have leveraged on this to open its flagship lifestyle store "Watches and More" in the city with plans to scale it up to 25 such outlets in about a year. The concept store, a one-stop shop for exclusive branded time wear, jewellery and eyewear, is a venture to exploit the `attitude' shopping, as opposed to buying wears for necessity. Aspiration to wear trendy branded fashion accessories cuts across the age, said Mr Michael Poix, Executive Director, Egana Goldpfeil Group. Here to inaugurate the opening of the store, Mr Poix said Bangalore has emerged an important centre for Egana. The explosion of retail stores with their stress on exclusive design to make shopping a delightful experience was one for the reasons the Hong Kong-based lifestyle products distributor to venture into the city. The $600-million Egana Godpfeil, is one of the leading worldwide distributors of timepiece, jewellery, leather and lifestyle products sold under exclusive licensed brand names (Cerruti, Esprit and Paolo designed by Paolo Gucci). Egana India Pvt Ltd, which started with a one brand portfolio `Esprit Time wear', has increased its distribution points in the country from 25 to 250 stores across 40 cities, said Mr Biren Vaidya, Managing Director, Egana India.
