Chennai , Sept. 14

THE Chennai-based Dhanus Technologies has launched a prepaid international calling card for Indians travelling abroad.

The card is priced at Rs 1,500, which includes processing fee of Rs 225 and usage value of Rs 1,275, said the Chairman, Mr A.D. Sudhindra.

A soft launch of the card was done last month, and the card would be available in the retail market next month, he told newspersons.

The company is part of the Rs 21-crore Dhanus group, which has business interests in telecom, agriculture, trading and shipping. According to Mr Sudhindra, the US-based Earthshine Inc, another group firm, will provide front-end support for the card operations, and Dhanus Technologies the back-end support from Chennai.

The cards would be distributed in India through travel agents, travel-related service providers, and on the Web, he added. Dhanus Technologies will soon launch Fleetrac, a vehicle/ship tracking service based on GPS/GSM.

The estimated market size in India for this service is about 20 million units (trucks), he said.
