Mixed trend in rubber prices

A MIXED trend prevailed in the spot rubber market on Tuesday.

The prices tended stabilise, as sellers stayed back expecting the prices to recover partially in the days ahead.

Buyers were meagre and RSS 4 weakened to Rs 49 from Rs 49.50 on Monday.

RSS 5 also lost 50 paise, while the other grades were steady and inactive.

The futures market turned better, quoting the September delivery at Rs 52.81 (52.30) a kg on Tuesday.

The near month October delivery was quoted at Rs 50.85 (50.33), November delivery at Rs 50.95 (50.60) and December delivery at Rs 50.99 (50.52) per kg for RSS 4.

At Bangkok, RSS 3 improved to Rs 56.57 a kg from Rs 56.6.

The TOCOM September futures for RSS 3 closed at 138.4 yen from 138 yen a kg on Monday.

The spot market rates per kg on Tuesday were as follows: RSS 4 49 (49.50); RSS 5 47.50 (48); ungraded 46.50(46.50); ISNR 20 46.50 (46.50); Latex 60 per cent 37.00(37.00).
