Haryana to add 1,000 new buses

Rajesh Ahuja

Chandigarh , Sept. 15

THE Haryana Government has decided to add 1,000 new buses to its fleet and the buses plying on rural routes would stop at the last village and commence journey from that village next morning, according to the Chief Minister, Mr Om Prakash Chautala.

Listening to the grievances of the people on day one of his four-day whirlwind tour of Sirsa district on Wednesday, he said that despite the steep decrease in the water level in the Bhakra Dam, his regime would ensure that the farmers get adequate power and water for the standing paddy crop and sowing of rabi crop.

He reiterated that all the watercourses would be brick-lined with nine inch thick walls and wherever required their level would also be restructured.

He said that the people of the State would get uninterrupted power supply after December 31 as a number of power plants were being set up in the State.
