Strategy LifeStyle Weekends show featuring Aasma Sravanthi Challapalli
Chennai , Sept. 15 RETAIL chain LifeStyle is launching LifeStyle Weekends at its stores throughout the country. The Managing Director, LifeStyle International, Mr Kumar Sitaraman, told Business Line that this new concept in retailing was unveiled about three months ago. Channel V pop group Aasma is performing at the store in Chennai on Friday. The first round of LifeStyle Weekends is featuring Aasma performances at the various outlets - the group has been to the Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore stores so far. "The idea of Lifestyle Weekends stemmed from the basic need of enriching the shopping experience at our stores. Considering that the majority of the shopping happens over the weekends, we wanted to liven them up," Mr Sitaraman said. Claiming this is a new concept in retail, he said, "Shopping in India has become much more than just a shopping list-based activity. It's a form of leisure and entertainment and in recognition of its enhanced role, we have launched LifeStyle Weekends." LifeStyle is attempting to create a "theatre impact" in the Chennai event by installing two large Plasma screens, speakers and seven or eight CCTVs inside the store. Customers will also get the opportunity to interact with the pop stars. The Weekend show will next go to Hyderabad. Mr Sitaraman said the salient features of LifeStyle Weekends would be wholesome entertainment and customer interaction.
