THE domestic rubber market was static on Thursday. As buyers turned more cautious keeping a low profile, prices failed to improve against traders expectations.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 49.50 as on Wednesday. The transactions were narrow.

The futures also appeared steady quoting the near month October delivery at Rs 50.75 (50.70) a kg on Thursday. The November delivery was quoted at Rs 51.20 (51.03) and December delivery at Rs 51.27 (51.10) per kg for RSS 4.

At Bangkok, RSS 3 closed at Rs 56.72 against Rs 56.67 a kg. At TOCOM the October futures for the same grade improved to 138.9 yen from 137.6 yen a kg on Wednesday.

The spot market rates per kg on Wednesday follow: RSS 4 Rs 49.50 (49.50); RSS 5 Rs 48 (48); ungraded Rs 47.25 (47.25); ISNR 20 Rs 46.75 (46.75); latex 60 per cent Rs 37.50 (37.50).
