Pune , Sept. 16

THE city-based Dass group, one of the oldest players in the market, is launching an exclusive showroom for Sony, which will offer not just all the products under one roof, but loads of value-adds for the customer as well.

Talking to reporters, Mr Naresh Sareen, Managing Director, Dass Electric Trading Co, said the company is inaugurating an exclusive Sony showroom in the city that will showcase the complete range of its televisions, DVDs, cameras, handycams and other products. Sony already has two other Sony World showrooms in the city.

"What will make our showroom special for customers is the shopping experience that we plan to offer," Mr Sareen said. The showroom will sport a playpen for toddlers and play stations for older children. Prams for infants will also be made available. "We also plan to screen free movies on Sundays which is when footfalls into showrooms are much larger," Mr Sareen said.

Dass Electic is also gearing up to open a multi-brand store of 12,000 sq.ft. for white goods in Pune by December.

The company recently renovated its flagship store in the city to give it a more international appeal and it now has new additions such as PCs, laptops, Sony digital imaging cameras and Nikon range of cameras, mobile handsets and other new products.

Dass Electric already has eight existing showrooms in the city and the number will go up by December. "We expect turnover to go up to Rs 40 crore this year from the existing level of Rs 35 crore."
