WITH reference to the news report titled `Scissors on smoking scenes likely'' that appeared in Business Line dated September 14, Mr Amitabh Bachchan writes:

"The article mentions my name as being an actor that was `puffing away' in my films. I wish to inform you that I am a non-smoker and have been one for almost 30 years. Apart from this, I cannot remember having partaken in any film in the past 15 years where I have had to smoke a cigarette. It is a well known fact that I am a non-smoker in the Indian film industry.''
