New Delhi , Sept. 17 US-based IT consulting and services company Infogain Corporation has said it plans to ramp up India headcount to about 1,000 professionals from the existing 450 and invest an additional about $5 million in the next one year for expansion. The company has also announced the launch of its largest global development centre (GDC) in India spread over 90,000 sq. ft. with an investment of $5 million. "Our third facility in three years, the new centre has capacity to house 1,000 people and will be the key component of the company's dual shore delivery model. We are looking at adding some more facilities, and are likely to invest an additional $5 million in doubling capacity and adding people in 12 months," Mr Kapil Nanda, President and CEO of Infogain Corporation, said at a conference here. He said that the likely locations for the new facilities were Delhi or Noida. Globally, Infogain employs 650 professionals, he said, adding that the company was looking at doubling this headcount in the next 12 months. Mr Bernard Guidon, Member Board, Infogain Corporation, said, "US offshore IT services spending is projected to grow from $16 billion in 2004 to $46 billion in 2007. To capitalise on this opportunity, IT vendors need to provide high-value, low-cost, and speedy time to market solutions on a global scale. This is where companies like Infogain are equipped, having the agility and depth of expertise to add significant, measurable value."
