WeP Peripherals upbeat on growth

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore , Sept. 17

WEP Peripherals Ltd is confident of a fairly aggressive growth in the coming years.

The company is looking at expanding its manufacturing capabilities.Besides, acquisition is also on the cards.

According to Mr Dependra Mathur, General Manager (Human Resources & Quality), WeP Peripherals, the company is in the process of setting up a huge manufacturing plant at Himachal Pradesh on a total estimated outlay of Rs 50 crore.

At present, WeP Peripherals has a unit each at Mysore and Hyderabad. Mr Mathur told Business Line that the company had chosen to position its huge, advanced unit in the North to take advantage of excise duty exemption and corporate and sales tax concessions. "The markets are growing and it pays to be closer to the consuming centre rather than moving the goods to far-off destinations. Raipur is a good growth area," he said.

According to him, the challenge was not in manufacturing, but designing world-class products.
