NIC cover for Hero Honda vehicles

THE $2.2-billion Hero Group has firmed a tie-up with the National Insurance Company (NIC) to provide insurance cover to Hero Honda vehicle owners through its new venture `Nsure Plus' and said that the alliance targets over 7 lakh customers and Rs 70-crore business by this fiscal-end.

"Besides initially offering insurance solutions to the customers of Hero Honda, Nsure Plus will provide its packages to companies within the Hero Group and other firms as well. We are looking at a customer base of over seven lakh by the end of this fiscal," the Hero Corporate Service Ltd Managing Director, Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, said at the launch of the joint initiative here.

The entire procedure for getting the insurance policy is completed within five minutes.

The customer has the benefit of approaching any Hero Honda showroom across the country to enrol and stake claims for the insurance.

The NIC CMD, Mr H.S. Wadhwa, said distribution of products other than vehicle insurance would also be introduced in the future.
